Fill pattern, non-uniform wall, shrink, sinks, ribs, gussets, warp venting, bosses, plus other design tips. Polymer, processing, design and some tooling issues will be detailed based on work of Glenn Beall and John Klees.   This design sample block is provided to all students. 

Abstract: The purpose of this seminar is to provide you with a basic understanding of plastics, piece- part design requirements and rules for the injection molding process.  Emphasis will be on plastics and piece part design in conjunction with optimizing tooling and processing costs.  This is a basic to intermediate course.  A walk before you run foundation developed and honed by over 50 years of production tested designs by Mr. John Klees and Mr. Glenn Beall.
